John Hauske Osmundson


John Hauske Osmundson was born 11 Feb 1827 on the Hauske farm in Finnøy, Rogaland, Norway. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1854, traveling to Quebec and then to Illinois and Wisconsin before settling in Marshall Township, Mower County, Minnesota. He and his wife, Elen Serina Hanson Osmundson were the parents of the first white child born in the township. Their home was on the east half of the southeast quarter of section 36. John served on the township board and was one of the founding members of Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams. John passed away 15 Aug 1882 and is buried in the Little Cedar Cemetery.
