I currently live in Ohio and I'm trying to do some research on my grandfather's family in Minnesota. Among our family photos is a picture of a young woman whom we all believe to be my great-great-grandmother, however no one knows her name. There were a lot of family secrets kept regarding this photo because my great-grandfather was adopted. I've been told that without the mother's name we cannot gain access to his adoption records. My understanding is that my great-grandfather, "Anton Peter Krafnick" was born in or near Adams, Minnesota, in July of 1898 or 1899. He was baptized in Adams at the Catholic church.
Also, if you have any suggestions of where to look or who to contact to find out about my great grandfather's adoption I'd appreciate the info.
Thanks for your help!
