Lois Jean (Campbell) Beer 1949-2010
Lois Jean (Campbell) Beer, 61, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Monday,
November 15, 2010.
Lois was born on January 29, 1949, in Austin, Mower county, Minnesota; an
individual like no other – wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a
woman who loved life when she was on the “beat.”
She traveled the world and soaked in every bit of culture and cuisine a
country could share. With her passport near and a bag always packed, she
was ready to go to any destination presented to her with enthusiasm.
Lois embraced life’s ups and downs the same way. Wherever she lived,
she mad it a loving comfortable home for her family in no time at all. As
an accomplished seamstress, she had her family’s new home decorated with
curtains, spreads and pillows in record time. And among it all, she created
her daughters one-of-a-kind dresses designed to their desire. She brought her gardening inside and created savory dishes for her family to sit at the table and enjoy together.
Her smile lit up every room and always warmed her husband, Bruce’s hear.
They were married Nov. 25, 1967 and would have celebrated their 43rd wedding
anniversary on Thanskgiving day this year. Throughout their marriage they
lived in eight states and countless cities. They enjoyed traveling and
playing bridge together. Bruce is eternally grateful for his wife’s support.
Their daughters, Raquel and Nicole, loved their worldly family trips,
even as adults. As a mother, Lois shared with her daughters her love of
life, the importance of family and to approach everything that came their
way with courage and fortitude. This strength and dtermination helped them
to blossom into two beautiful ladies inside and out. Raquel lives in
Scottsdale, Ariz., with her family: Kurt, Arianna, Emma and Blake. Grandma
Lois embraced her grandchildren by cupping their their faces between her
two hands and planting a big kiss righ on their lips and telling them she
loved them. Her loving and affectionate ways are cherished by all of her
family and even Nicole’s Delta co-workers, who knew her by first name.
Nicole, who lives in Long Beach, New York, took her mother’s love of travel
to an entirely new level.
Lois was always up for a good time no matter the time zone or country.
Every person she touched will carry on Lois’s love. Cheers to her, to life
and to the legacy that she graced all of us with now and forever.

Donald Mearl Vietor ca.1947-2010
Donald Mearl Vietor, 63, died November 23, 2010.
Don was born here in Austin. He graduated from Austin High School in 1965.
As a teenager he worked at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store, which started
a life-long career in the grocery business. He also drove a cab here for a
while, but the grocery business was what he enjoyed and took great pride in.
He married Linda Lenoch, had three sons, and was later divorced.
When he wasn’t working, he was an avid bowler, but he most loved to spend
time going over along the Mississippi valley area, sightseeing and, of
course, fishing.
As a young adult he and his brother, Mike, thought they’d try moving to
California. But Minnesota was always on his mind. When fishing season
opened, all he wished for was to be catching a big one at Alma, Minnesota,
as he did so many times with his father and brothers. So it was fitting that
he would eventually buy a log cabin in Red Wing where he spent many happy
years. It would also be the home where he passed away, in his sleep, just
as he wished.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Lambert and Margie Vietor, his
brothers John Paul Vietor and Mike Vietor, and his grandson Demetrius Vietor.
He is survived by his brothers; Bob Hebl of Austin, Craig Vietor of
Austin, and Jim Vietor (Sally) of Elkton. Sisters; Sharon (Bob) Knutson of
Owatonna, Janet (Dave) of Springfield, Oregon, and Mary (Jeff) McNiff of
Austin. Sons; Lee (Tina) Vietor of Hayfield with their daughter Alexis,
Terry Vietor with his children Autumn, Teryn and Stella, and Jeff Vietor.
By Don’s request, there will be a memorial service held next spring at
Todd Park. Any condolenses may be sent to 924 4th Ave, NE, Austin, MN 55912.
