Jean Marilyn Way 1941-2014
The memorial service for Jean Marilyn Way will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday,
January 14, 2014, at the United Methodist Church, 100 Pleasant St. SE,
Brownsdale, Minn., with the Rev. Sharon Goetzinger officiating. Visitation
will be one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Jean Marilyn Way, 72, passed away on January 8, 2014, at her home in
Brownsdale.
Jean was born on May 20, 1941, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha
(Woxland) Olness in Milwaukee, Wis. She attended country schools in
Peterson and Rushford, Minn., areas. Jean worked at Winona Knitting
Milles, Plano Independent School District in Texas and later moved to
Jefferson, Iowa, and worked for Greene Medical Center. After she moved to
Brownsdale she worked at Hayfield High School. She was united in marriage
to David Way on Sept. 28, 1985, in Panora, Iowa. Jean enjoyed gardening,
baking, and was an avid collector of pig collectables.
Jean is survived by her children, Rocky (Lisa) Boehmke, Farmersville,
Texas, Randy (Lisa) Boehmke, Wichita, Kan., Ramona (Craig) Gwin, Brownsdale,
Roger (Jessie) Allen, Kenyon, Minn., Kelly Allen, Faribault, Minn., Joe
(Sarah) Allen, Faribault, Jim (Mardell) Way, Kenyon, Scott (Kim) Way,
Cologne, Minn., Pete Way, Oklahoma, Okla., Travis (Paula) Way, Kenyon,
Jon (Sarah) Way, Chanhassen, Minn., Brent Way, Fargo, N.D.; 28
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara (George)
Hovland, Rushford, Minn., and Beverly (Donald) Olson, Peterson, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ole Olness
and her husband, David.

Obituary
Jean Ann Fargusson (Gallaher) age 64 of Rose Creek passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System - Austin.
Jean was born on April 25, 1949 to Dale and Alice (Lauritzen) Gallaher.
She attended Austin High School and graduated in 1967. On November 30, 1968
she married Tom Fargusson and together they had three children. Jean worked
as a certified nursing assistant. She was a loving wife to Tom; they had
just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in November 2013. They
loved time with their family. Jean enjoyed going to all of her
grandchildren's activities and could be heard cheering the loudest
and proudest of them all. She cherished these moments with her loved
ones above all. Jean and Tom loved their travels to visit family and
friends out of state and rarely left each other's side in the 45 years
that they loved each other.
She will be remembered for her great love of her family, her loving
smile, big warming hugs, her genuine compassion and love for others,
wonderful sense of humor, infectious laughter and her signature farewell,
"Drive careful, wear your seatbelt and don't forget to text or call
when you get home." And if you didn't she'd let you know!
Jean is survived by her husband Tom Fargusson; three children Dea
(Jeff) Pederson of Lyle, Minnesota, Gina (Marvin) Clark of Austin,
Minnesota, Joshua Fargusson (Eliza Schell) of Chaska Minnesota; eight
grandchildren Alisson, Blake, Wyatt, and Wayde Pederson, Alexis Fargusson,
Joseph, Steven, and Aubrie Clark; three siblings Thomas (Joni) Gallaher,
Susan (Mike) Van Hyfte, and Sally (Nick Zrucky) Gallaher, sisters-in-law
Carol German, Alice (Rod) Bjork, Betty (Chuck) Worts and Bonnie (Wes)
Graff; her aunts, Lois Holmes, Casey Lakin, and Jean Lauritzen; her
uncle Don (Martha) Gallaher; her loving canine companion Sophie; many
cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dale Gallaher and Alice
Gallaher, her mother and father-in-law Earl and Jeana Fargusson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6,
2014 at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Jeffrey Forbes
officiating. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January
5, 2014 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the
service at the church on Monday. Worlein Funeral Home, Austin, is
assisting the family with arrangements.

Harvey C. Bundy 1892-1976
LEROY, Minn. - Services for Harvey C. Bundy, 84, who died Monday
afternoon at Riceville Community Nursing Home, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday
at First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy; burial in the LeRoy Cemetery.
Survived by two sisters, Mrs, Mabel Kramer of Tipton and Miss Grace
Bundy of Riceville.
Friends may call at the Hutchlns Funeral Home at LeRoy until 9 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.. until noon at the funeral home and
until services at the church.

Floyd Dale Sorensen 1927-2014
Floyd Dale Sorensen, 86, of Hayfield, Minnesota, died Saturday morning,
January 4, 2014, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
He was born June 7, 1927, in Lansing Township, Mower County, Minnesota,
the son of Nels and Anna (Fredricksen) Sorensen. He received his education
in the Taylor Country School. He was united in marriage to Madeline Howden
on July 11, 1948, in Dexter. From 1946 to 1947, Floyd served his country
in the U.S. Navy. Floyd farmed and milked cows, and in 1966, he built a
new barn and milked up to 52 head. In 1974, he was involved in an accident
and following his recovery returned to school in 1976, at the Austin
Community College. He graduated in 1978, with a degree in agricultural
studies. He became a Master Scaler No. 1 for the State of Minnesota,
overseeing six scales in Southern Minnesota, retiring in 1992.
Floyd enjoyed playing cards, bingo and fishing, as well as traveling
to several Southern Minnesota schools to demonstrate rope making. He liked
John Deere tractors, collecting 19 of them, and always had tractors in the
Hayfield parade. Floyd was very involved in senior citizen centers in
Hayfield, West Concord and Kasson, volunteering for SEMCAC, the RSVP
transportation program and Meals on Wheels. In 1998, he was voted the
Dodge County Outstanding Senior Citizen and placed second in the state
of Minnesota. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Blooming
Prairie where he led Christian Fellowship and served on the board as a
deacon and trustee. He also was a member of American Legion Post 52 for
more than 64 years and traveled on the Honor Flight in 2010.
Survivors include four sons, Norman (Naomi) Sorensen, of Salinas,
Calif.; Mark (Cindy) Sorensen, of Rochester; Brian (Debra) Sorensen
and Daniel (Christina) Sorensen, all of Waltham; 11 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Myron (DeeDee) Sorensen, of
Dexter; Erene (Gaylord) Tapp, of Brownsdale; Art (Donna) Sorensen of
Waltham, Robert (Beverly) Sorensen, of Grand Meadow; as well as many
nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in
death by his parents; wife, Madeline, in 1989; daughter, Diane, in 2013;
four sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at First
Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Matthew Fennell, officiating.
Military honors will be rendered immediately following services by members
of American Legion Post 52 and VFW Post 878. Interment will be held in the
spring at Blooming Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, Jan.
10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Worlein-Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and
for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.

Viva May (Wentzel) McGonigle 1926-2014
Viva May McGonigle, 87, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday evening, January
3, 2014, in the home of her daughter, Gloria, in Rochester, Minnesota.
She was born April 13, 1926, to James and Maude (Sweazey) Wentzel
in Oakland Township, Mower County, Minnesota. She was raised in
Austin. Viva married Cecil McGonigle on August 21, 1942, in Glendale,
California. Cecil was on active duty overseas and Viva moved back to
Austin. She and Cecil lived there the rest of their lives in the same
house for 67 years. Viva was a housewife who loved her family and pets
-- many cats and a bunny named Harvey. She was an outstanding needlewoman.
She loved taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. Everyone
who came to her house was offered candy, a bag of chips and a full meal.
She loved entertaining large groups. She was a Girl Scout leader for many
years and led her troop in many adventures. She also worked part-time at
the Austin Daily Herald and was a member of Crane Community Chapel.
Survivors include daughters, Gloria Bahr, of Rochester; Gail (Bruce)
Lunde, of Merrifield, Minn.; son, Michael (Linda) McGonigle, of East
Moline, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Brian (Deb) Bahr, Erin (Kennan)
Kroll, Daniel (Emily) McGonigle, Mesa Watson (Stanley Flowers), Tara
McGonigle, Kjirstin Bingel, Jori (Scott) Shore, Gretchen (Chad) Bill;
22 great-grandchildren, Stephinee, Noah, Caleb, Gabriel, Sahnje, Seth,
Sean, Nick, Mason, Evan, Hannah, Ezra, Sierra, Elijah, Chris, Aiden,
Ethan, Mackenzie, Hailey, Ethan, Kaelyn and Devin; sisters, Dixie
Wytaske of Lansing, Nettie Greenman of Rock Island, Illinois; brothers
James Wentzel, of Bishop, Ga.; Robert Wentzel, of Austin; and Guy
(Debbie) Wentzel, of Duluth; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; parents, Jim and
Maude Wentzel; sisters, Gloria Wentzel, Jessie McGonigle, and Dorothy
Theuer; brothers, Dave "Bud" and Paul Wentzel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014,
at Crane Community Chapel with Pastor Dale Christiansen, officiating.
Interment will follow the service in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation
will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Joy Fredricka Janning 1953-2013
Joy F. Janning, 60, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, December 31,
2013, at her home. Joy Fredricka was born March 2, 1953, to Floyd and
Arline (Mehlhaff) Fuhrman in Austin. Joy was a 1971 graduate of Austin
High School.
She was united in marriage on July 31, 1971, to Michael Janning
at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. Joy and Mike resided in Albert Lea,
Minn., and later Clarks Grove. Minn., before returning to Austin in 1977.
In the late 1980s, Joy enrolled in Austin Community College, earning her
cosmetology certification. For nine years Joy was employed with Cost
Cutters in Austin. She then owned and operated her own salon out of her
home for many years. In addition to her salon business, Joy put in 20
years with Hormel, retiring in 2012. She was a longtime member of Grace
Lutheran Church in Austin. Joy enjoyed her many travels with her sisters,
and treasured her time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Eric Janning (Jodie Reese), of Austin;
Dustin (Ashley) Janning, of Mason City, Iowa; sisters, Laurie Steward,
of Warsaw, Minn.; Penny (Ron) Mayzlik, of Austin; brother, Thomas Fuhrman,
of Hayward, Minn.; grandchildren, Tamika, Dakota, Ethan and Emmett;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Brenda) Janning, of Jackson;
Marie (Steve) Loverink, of Medford, Minn.; Tina Janning Sherman, of
Montana; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike, in August of
2013; infant daughter, Liz.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014,
at 6 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Jeff Forbes,
officiating. Joy's family will greet friends on Thursday afternoon from

Earl Vernon Hamilton

Earl Vernon Hamilton, age 81 of Dexter, Minnesota, died suddenly on
Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Mercy-Gilbert Medical Center, Gilbert,
Arizona.
Earl was born on August 16, 1932 at LeRoy, Minnesota, to Roy Golden
and Nora Bell (Felper) Hamilton. Earl was baptized at Central Presbyterian
Church in Austin, Minnesota. He attended school in Adams and Elkton,
Minnesota. He entered the Army in January 1953 and was honorably discharged
in October 1954. On June 17, 1956, Earl married Ruth Schwerin at St. Johns
Lutheran Church of Elkton, Minnesota.
Earl farmed with his brother Norbert for many years. He had a great love
for farming and the auction sale business doing consignment and farm
auctions in the area for over 50 years. Earl sold many years with Jim
Eastman, Bus Eastman, Norbert Hamilton and Dean Eastman.
Earl was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for 57 years and served
on the church council. He conducted semi-annual auctions for the Dexter
Sun Flower Daze for many years.
Earl and Ruth enjoyed going to Chandler, Arizona in the winter months
for several years. They had many special friends in the retirement area
of Springfield Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Nora Hamilton, two
brothers, Norbert and Roy L. Hamilton.
Earl is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 57 years; sisters-in-law:
Carol Hamilton (Roy) of Stewartville, Minnesota, and Peggy Hamilton
Queensland (Norbert) of Elkton, MN; many nephews and nieces; and his
partners in the auction sale business, Bill Hilton and Andrew Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8th
at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Elkton, MN with the Reverend Liz
Erickson officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military
rites by Adams American Legion Post #146. Visitation will be at the Adams
Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church on Wednesday
morning for one hour before the service.
Honorary bearers will be Lee Himle, Stan Boles, Darold Sheely, Tom
Thorsen, Duane Wigham, and Ray Dietrich.
Casket bearers will be Bill Hilton, Andrew Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, Ron
Hamilton, Mike Schneider and Dean Eastman.

Frances Arvilla Hug, 100
Frances A. Hug, 100, of Austin, Minnesota, died at her home on Monday,
January 6, 2014.
Frances Arvilla Hug was born to Anna and Amos Hanson on July 10, 1913, in
Bricelyn, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On December 30, 1930, she and Lester Hug were married at the St. Olaf
parsonage. Frances was a farm wife and mother. Lester died in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and two
brothers along with a stillborn daughter.
The funeral service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Dexter
Township, 22980 630th Avenue at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014,
with the Rev. David Fleischmann officiating. There will be no reviewal
at the church. A private family interment service will be held at Oakwood
Cemetery, Austin.

Mathilda "Tillie" Elizabeth (Krantz) Berhow 1915-2014
Mathilda "Tillie" Elizabeth (Krantz) Berhow, 98, passed
away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2014, at Sacred Heart Care Center
surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Tillie was born August 31, 1915, to August and Tena (Kundy) Krantz in
their Austin, Minn., home which is still standing today. She was one
of five children. She attended Austin Country School through eighth
grade. On July 21, 1941, she married Carroll Berhow and resided in
Oakland, Minn., later moving into Austin. They had six children. She
worked at the Hormel Packing Plant for 43 years. Her first love was
spending time with her family, which she did often. After retiring, she
volunteered in many different capacities such as calling bingo and working
at Burr Oak and St. Marks Nursing Homes.
Tillie had a strong Christian faith and was a long-time, active
member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the Eagles Auxiliary, Royal
Neighbors and the Red Cross blood mobile. Tillie's hobbies included
fishing, dancing, bowling, playing cards, refinishing/refurbishing
old furniture and upholstery. She loved to watch her Minnesota Twins,
western movies and driving around in her jacked-up blue El Camino. Her
laugh was contagious and everyone knew her by her laugh. She moved into
Our House Assisted Living of Austin in September of 2005. Everybody in
Austin knew Tillie it seemed and she had many, many friends.
She leaves behind her loving family which includes: son, Denny (Sandy)
Berhow, of Stewartville, Minnesota; daughters LaVonne Husemoller, Linda
(Marshall) Halvorson and Janice (Jim) Benesh, all of Austin; one
sister-in-law, Darlene Berhow, of Oakland; 14 grandchildren: Cathy
McFarland, Patty Willard, Randy Becker, Sheila (Craig) Muller, Mark
(Michelle) Husemoller, Tina Husemoller, Annette (Corey) Olson, Trent
(Sharon) Berhow, Tamara Hajek, Leslie Ann Fox, Michelle (Mike) Wolfe,
Amy (Jason) Kelvie, Lisa (Scott) Bucher, and Renee (Brent) Thompson,
31 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews. She was very proud of all of her children and their
families. She loved being part of as many of their gatherings and
activities as possible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, one
sister, two sons, Jerry and Jimmy, two sons-in law, Leslie Munson and Russ
Husemoller, one granddaughter, Krissy, one infant grandson, Timothy, and
long-time friend, Maynard Kolpin.
We want to recognize the outstanding staff and caregivers at Our House
Assisted Living for the past 8 1/2 years and the friendships made. In
addition, a warm thank you to the staff and caregivers at Sacred Heart
for the past month. Your friendship and compassion are unmatched. Tillie
touched many lives in many different capacities in her 98 years. She will
be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, at
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Austin with the Rev. Brian Krueger
officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. There will
be visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Thursday and

Max E. Brown, 82, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, January 6, 2014,
of Lewy Body Dementia at Our House Memory Care in Austin.
Max Eugene Brown was born June 18, 1931, at Vermillion, South Dakota,
the son of Freeman and Eva (Anglin) Brown. He graduated from the Vermillion
High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After being
discharged, he attended college at the University of South Dakota in
Vermillion and graduated with a bachelors degree. Max was married to
Norma Lofgren on August 21, 1955, at the Congregational Church in
Vermillion. They moved to Austin where he began teaching in the Austin
Public Schools. He attended Mankato State University where he received
his master's degree while he was a counselor at Ellis Middle School,
where he was employed until his retirement.
Max was a member of the First Congregational Church of Austin where
he served on many committees. He was also a member of Austin Elks Lodge,
B.P.O.E. No. 414 and Austin Post 91 American Legion. He was an avid
reader, fisherman and enjoyed golfing. He loved spending time with his
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Angela, two
sisters and five brothers.
Max is survived by his wife, Norma Brown, of Austin; sons and
daughters-in-law, Randy and Jackie Brown, of Hutchinson, Minnesota
James and Dianne Brown, of Eyota, Minnesota; Curtis and Sharon Brown,
of Glenview, Illinois; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Chris Brogan,
of Mantorville, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014, at
the First Congregational Church with the Rev. Shari Mason officiating.
Military Honors by Austin Post #91 American Legion. Visitation will be
at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may
be directed to the First Congregational Church or to the donor's choice.

Priscilla Helen "Cill" Seehusen, 75, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota,
died January 8, 2014, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She was born September 21, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota, to Robert and
Cleda (Sherwood) Seehusen.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Seehusen; father, Robert
Doty Sr.; sister, Rosemary Doty; brother, Robert Doty Jr. and son-in-law:
Daniel Gasner.
She is survived by her mother, Cleda Blumenrader; sister, Susan (Mark)
Hinsch; children: Tim Seehusen (Juli), Nancy Evans (Michael), Cathi Gasner,
Rick Seehusen (Jeanne); grandchildren: Ashley Seehusen, T.J. Seehusen;
Matthew Evans(Jen), Jennifer Munzenrieder (Derek), Mya Gasner, Jacob

Kenneth Lowell Kilian, 66
Kenneth Lowell Kilian, 66, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, January
10, 2014, at St. Marks Lutheran Home in Austin.
He was born November 18, 1947, to Lester and Isabel (Farr) Kilian in
Albert Lea, Minn. Kenneth was a 1965 graduate of Blooming Prairie High
School. He had a long career as an over the road trucker and dispatcher,
retiring in 2007. A member of Geneva Lutheran Church, he loved riding
motorcycle and built his Harley into a trike. He also enjoyed telescopes
and target shooting.
Survivors include longtime companion, Donna Gullickson; three children,
Nicole (Bruce) Stanford, Dr. Olivia (Dr. Jason) Johnson, and Jeffrey Kilian;
one granddaughter, Isabella; two brothers, Adrian (Dorothy) Kilian, of
Geneva, Minn.; and Darwyn Kilian, of Rochester, Minn. He was preceded
in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Mary Kilian.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014,
at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with Rev. Dale Christiansen
of Crane Community Chapel officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. on the day of the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will

Arthur B. Ingvalson 1919-2014
Arthur B. Ingvalson, 94, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died Thursday
morning, January 9, 2014, in the presence of his family, at Prairie Manor
Care Center.
He was born August 15, 1919, in Udolpho Township to Emil and Clara
(Lampland) Ingvalson. Art was a lifelong Blooming Prairie resident and
graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1937. He farmed with his
family until he married Florence L. Hjelmen on December 26, 1948, at
the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. After their marriage,
the couple started to farm north of Blooming Prairie until Art's
retirement. To this union two children were born. Art was very active
in his community; he was on the Creamery Board, Elevator Board, Pork
Producer's Board, First Lutheran Church Council, Lions Club, Prairie
Manor Board, Blooming Prairie Township Board and Clerk and was a member
of Sons of Norway. He enjoyed genealogy, history, woodworking, baseball,
tractors, working in his shop and all things Norwegian. Art's life was
defined by how carefully he tended his faith, his family and his community.
Art is survived by his daughter, Janis (Gary) Lueth, and his son, Jerald
(Carol) Ingvalson, both of Blooming Prairie; six grandchildren, Kristin
(Cord Koening), Kari, Kassie, Mike (Katie), Jeff and Craig (Rebecca); two
great-grandchildren, Carsten and Brayton; and many wonderful nieces,
nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Florence, in 2002; and five brothers, Elsworth, Maurice,
Donald, Reuben, and Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014,
at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastor Charles Leonard
and Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Visitation will be held from 4
to 7 p.m. Thursday evening and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery. The family suggests that

Eunice V. (Madsen) (Higgins) Perau, age 90 of Mankato, Minnesota,
formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died Sunday, January 12, 2014.
Eunice Virginia was born March 16, 1923 in Spencer, Iowa to Frank M.
and Anna (Amsrud) Madsen. Eunice grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and attended
Austin High School. On December 12, 1952, she married Allan L. Perau. They
raised three children in Austin. Allan and Eunice enjoyed fishing, camping,
square dancing, cards and exploring the US. They visited every state except
Alaska, Hawaii and the New England states.
Eunice's other hobbies were reading, telling jokes, crocheting, sewing,
and keeping in touch with relatives and old friends. She moved to Mankato
in September 2011 where she resided at Old Main Village. More recently
she was at Ecumen Pathstone Living.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Allan.
Eunice is survived by her son: Russell (Suzin) Higgins of Bakersfield,
California; two daughters: Peggy (Charles) Draheim of Madison Lake,
Minnesota, and Connie (Charles) Larsen of Mankato, Minnesota; ten
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18th
at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Austin, Minnesota, with the Reverend Thomas
Ogilvie officiating. Interment will be at St. Peters Cemetery,
Toeterville, Iowa. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 to
11:00 AM on Saturday morning. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge

Edward Josef Stadheim
Obituary
Edward J. Stadheim, age 91 of Lyle, Minnesota, died Sunday, January
12, 2014 at Sacred Heart Care Center.
He was born May 6, 1922 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Louis and Evelyn
(Hellie) Stadheim. Edward attended country school and Albert Lea High
School before attending plumbing school in Kansas City. On June 4, 1948,
he married Blanche Voelker at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Owatonna. In
addition to farming and raising sheep, Ed worked for Carr Plumbing for 20
years, and then as a plumber/steamfitter for Hormel Foods for 20 years.
In 1984, he started his own plumbing business and continued for more than
20 years. Ed was a United States Army veteran serving in Europe in World War
II and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle, where he served
on the board, as treasurer for 6 years, and on the building committee. He
was also a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. Ed's favorite pastimes
were reading, playing pool, fishing, dancing, and spending time with family.
He enjoyed old-time music and was an avid Twins and Vikings fan.
Survivors include his wife Blanche Stadheim of Lyle, Minnesota; his son,
Darwin Stadheim of Lyle, and his daughter Kris Stadheim (Mark Ahle) of
Rochester; seven grandchildren: Jason, Ryan, Lindsey, Joseph (Katie),
Joshua, Jordan and Brandy; six great-grandchildren: Erica, Kylie, Kamren,
Hayden, Jayde and Jaxon; one sister Annabelle Allen of California, and
five brothers: Stanley (Babe) Stadheim of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Louis
Stadheim of Austin, Arnold Stadheim and David (Marilyn) Stadheim, both
of Albert Lea, and John (Janice) Stadheim of Lake City, Minnesota;
sister-in-law Janet Stadheim of Albert Lea, Minnesota; brother-in-law
Tony Kocanda of Minneapolis; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Evelyn Stadheim, one
brother Richard, one sister Edna Mae Kocanda, brother-in-law Don Allen,
and sisters-in-law Evelyn Stadheim and Alberta Stadheim.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014
at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle with Pastor Barbara Finley-Shea
officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, January
20, 2014 at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and one hour prior to the
service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery,
Austin.

Joanne Louise (Sill) Huntting c1930-2014
Joanne Louise (Sill) Huntting died January 7, 2014, as a result of
complications following heart surgery.
She was born in Duluth, Minnesota, to Michael and Clare Sill. Following
her graduation from Duluth Central High School, she attended Carleton
College in Northfield, Minnesota, from which she graduated with a bachelor's
degree in sociology.
While at Carleton, she met James Grant Huntting, whom she married in
April, 1951, and settled in Austin, Minnesota, where Jim was employed. They
had three daughters, Ann, Lisa and Julie. An active homemaker, Joanne
served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, was a longtime member of PEO,
and pursued hobbies of painting and sewing as well as birding.
Particularly concerned with those less fortunate, she with her husband
Jim, contributed time and resources to many charities. After their daughters
graduated from high school, Joanne and Jim served as foster parents to two
girls, both of whom returned as adults to thank them.
Joanne was a spirited and energetic person. A champion in her teens,
Joanne loved to play tennis, and did so her entire life, imparting this
love to her family members. She cared for stray animals; loved a good
bargain while shopping; enjoyed attending performances and lectures.
She attracted and kept close and lifelong friendships.
Joanne loved living at Wilderness Country Club in Naples. She played
tennis, golf, bridge and mah jongg with cherished friends and enjoyed
dinners, movie nights and golf foursomes. She simply loved to have fun
with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Sill. She
is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Ann Yonamine, Lisa Huntting
Dunn and Julie (Steve) Grandgeorge; five grandchildren, Laura Yonamine
(Roy McFarland), Jay Yonamine, Madeline Sivo (Evan), Sam Grandgeorge and
Trevor Dunn; her brother, Mitchell, and sister-in-law, Elva Sill; her
sister-in-law Barbara Sill; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Joanne's life will be held at Wilderness Country Club
at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3. The family will provide flowers and encourages
memorials to be sent to Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, 11145
Tamiami Trail E, Naples, FL, 34113 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Andrew C. Martin, age 83, of Lyle, Minnesota, died peacefully at his
home, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Andrew Chester Martin was born January 27, 1930 on the family farm at
Lyle, the son of Melvin and Eva (Fossey) Martin. He attended school at Lyle,
Minnesota. Andrew was married to Cecilia Ann Whalen on February 3, 1951 at
Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. He farmed in the Lyle area until
his retirement when he moved to the Heritage Apartments in Lyle.
Andrew was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lyle. He had a
number of hobbies including woodworking, fishing and gardening. He loved
nature and watching birds. He enjoyed his afternoon visits with Cenex and
Agri Steele to drink coffee and visit with "the guys."
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cecilia, grandson
Dwight Allen Corson, brother Lee Martin and sister Helen Palynek.
He is survived by his children, Eva (Duane) Corson, Saint Ansgar,
Iowa, Andy "Rocky" Martin, Hugo, Minnesoa, Nancy (Ken) Hunze,
Plymouth, Minnesota, Ronda (Todd) Cooling, Lyle, Minnesota, Carey (Julie)
Martin, Lyle, Tami (Randy) Fett, Glenville, Minnesota, Tom (Heike) Martin,
St. Cloud, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
Honorary bearers will be Doug Corson, Jeremy Hunze, Cam Martin,
Caleb Martin, Kyle Fett, Tyler Fett, Ryan Fett and Dylan Fett.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 19th at
Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Lyle, Minnesota, with Father Swaminatha

George Elmer Knode 1930-2014
George Elmer Knode, 84, of LeRoy, Minnesota, died on Thursday, January
16, 2014, on his birthday, at the Wildwood Grove Care Facility where he had
resided since June of 2012.
He was born January 16, 1930, in Oakdale Township, Howard County, Iowa
the fourth son of Alva and Freda (Prentis) Knode. George farmed with his
family and completed the eighth-grade, later earning his GED through
LeRoy-Ostrander High School. He participated in Boy Scouts and Golden
Glove Boxing.
On October 8, 1950, George married Marian (June) Erie and raised four
children while operating a dairy farm with his brother Glen in rural LeRoy.
He was a 4-H leader, a passionate NFO member, and faithful blood donor. He
took great pride in his children and grandchildren. Later after June's
death, George married Shirley Spencer Nagele on September 10, 2004, living
on East Henry Street in in LeRoy until his move to Wildwood.
George is survived by his wife, Shirley of LeRoy, sister Marie (Royjohn)
Duffey, Mesa, Arizona; children: Keiko (wife of David) Knode, Bellevue,
Washington, John (Connie) Knode, Riceville, Iowa, Sharon (Al) Bergan
Hodgdon, LeRoy, Steve (Glenda )Knode, Spring Valley, Minnesota, step
children: Deborah (Dennis) Rice, Michael (Pam) Nagele LeRoy, and
Michelle (Gary) Nagele,Spring Valley; eight grandchildren, step
grandchildren, and many great and step-great grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his wife June, son David, son-in-law
Stan Bergan, an infant grandson, and brothers Alfred, Glen and Paul.
Funeral services for George Knode will be held 2 p.m. Saturday,
January 18, 2014, at LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy with Pastor Herman

Delores Elaine (Machacek) Foss 1934-2014
Delores Foss, 79, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, died peacefully Wednesday,
January 15, 2014, at her home.
Delores Elaine Foss was born on February 28, 1934, in Austin, Minnesota,
to Loy and Marie (Winter) Machacek. She was baptized and confirmed at Deer
Creek Valley Lutheran Church. Delores grew up on the family farm in London
Township and attended District 51 School in Freeborn County. Delores was
united in marriage to Archie Foss on August 10, 1957, in Austin Wayside
Chapel, rural Austin. In 1980 Archie and Delores moved to Colorado and
returned in 1999.
Delores was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She
enjoyed her many years a homemaker. Delores loved children and had an
in-home daycare. Delores was wonderful at making bread and won many blue
ribbons at the fair. She also enjoyed fishing, canning and spending time
with her family.
Survivors include her husband Archie; daughters, Lori (Richard) Nelson
and Linda (Robert) Reamon; granddaughters, Jillayna (Matt) Weyers, Nicole,
Kyla and Jessica Reamon and Mollie Nelson; great-grandson, Miles Weyers;
brothers, Ronald (Beverly), Daryl (Dorothy), Verne (Nancy), DeLyle (Sue)
and Kevin (Debbie); sister-in-law, Olga Beach and many nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law
Lawrence, Edward and Jay (Myra) Foss and Bob Beach.
Memorial services for will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014,
at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will

Walburga A. Hatten, 103
Walburga A. Hatten, 103, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, January 17, 2014, at Sacred Heart Care Center.
Walburga was born October 31, 1910, in Bancroft, Iowa, to Joseph and Mary Rahe. She went to school at St. Johns Catholic School in Bancroft, and after graduation went on to primary training.
In 1936, she married Arnold Hatten at St. Johns Catholic Church. They started their married life farming, which they did in Iowa until 1948, and then moved to the Austin, Minnesota, area and continued farming until 1976.
Walburga was a homemaker all of her life, raising 11 children. In the 1960s, she went back to her teaching career at Queen of Angels Catholic School and taught for 13 years. She was active in anything that involved family. Whether it was playing games, cards, or especially ball games after supper and before dishes were done. Her hobbies included quilting, glass work, and crocheting.
Walburga and Arnold loved family. As a couple they loved to travel, whether it was from Pennsylvania to Arizona, to Washington state, and all points in between.
Walburga spent many hours working with her flowers, glass work, and quilting until 2005, when she moved to an apartment in Brownsdale, Minn., for a couple of years before moving to Sacred Heart Care Center in 2007.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; two daughters, Janet and Georgia; a son, Gene; and son-in-law, Russell Mensink.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary on Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.

James LeRoy Whitcomb 1939-2014
James LeRoy Whitcomb, 74, passed away suddenly on January 11, 2014, at
Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.
James was born on June 29, 1939, in rural Hollandale, Minnesota, the
son of Harold and Myrtle (Goldsberry) Whitcomb.
He graduated from Austin High School in 1957. Jim was united in marriage
to Joanne Gross on August 3, 1957.
Jim worked for the Milwaukee Railroad in Austin and later worked as an
independent truck driver. He also worked for local growers in the area. He
enjoyed camping and fishing.
Jim is survived by his wife, JoAnne Whitcomb, Hayfield, Minnesota; three
sons: Daryl (Tammy) Whitcomb, Northfield, Minnesota; Doyle (Debra) Whitcomb,
Imperial, California; Duane (Kelly) Whitcomb, Calipatria, California;
one daughter: Diana (Daniel) DeRaad, Austin, Minnesota; eight grandchildren;
three step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine
step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Millie) Whitcomb,
Austin, Minnesota; Roger (Susan) Whitcomb, Sun City, Arizona; and
one sister-in-law, Shirley Whitcomb, Rockford, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eugene.
The funeral service for James will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014,
at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 Second St. NW in Hayfield with
Rev. A.D. Sturm officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in
Hayfield.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at the
Czaplewski Family Funeral Home and one hour before the service on Thursday.

Berniece Hazel (Wyant) Molde 1931-2014
Berniece Hazel Molde, 82, of Stewartville, Minnesota, died on Thursday,
January 16, 2014, of natural causes, at Root River Estates in Stewartville.
Berniece was born on November 19, 1931, in Austin, Minnesota, to Edward
and Hazel (Wallem) Wyant. She grew up in Austin, attended Austin schools
and graduated from Austin High School in 1950. She was then employed at
Hormel in Austin for a few years.
Berniece was married on September 19, 1953, in Austin, to Richard D.
Molde. Following their marriage the couple lived in Austin before moving
to Stewartville in 1957, where they raised their family and continued to
make their home. Mr. Molde died on November 16, 2008.
Berniece was a homemaker and was employed at Lake Center Industries in
Stewartville from 1973 until the plant's closing in 1980. As a young girl,
Berniece became involved in activities at the Salvation Army in Austin,
receiving her first Bible there and always remembering that as an important
influence in her life. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church
in Stewartville and was also involved in her kids' activities with the Boy
Scouts and 4-H. Berniece enjoyed music, reading, playing bingo with her
family and celebrating the holidays. She always was there to help care
and babysit for her grandchildren, loved time spent with her Mily and
this past Christmas held her great-great-granddaughter for the first time.
Berniece is survived by her two daughters: Nancy (Tom) Allen of Rochester,
Minnesota, and Jane (Joe) Himmer of rural Stewartville; seven grandchildren:
Cristi (Art) Lyke, Ryan (Audrey) Colligan, Josh Molde, Megan Himmer, Nikki
(Jake) Tietje, Adam (Ashley) Himmer and John Himmer; five
great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters,
Evelyn (Jim) Allgood of Austin, Minnesota, and Linda (Fred) Drehobl of
Lake of the Woods, Illinois; two brothers, Chuck (Leora) Wyant of Austin
and Gary Wyant of Dallas, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son, Bill; parents
and her brother, Edward.
The memorial service for Berniece will be at 11 a.m.. Monday January
20, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with Rev. Emily Carson
officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday morning at Zion Lutheran
Church in Stewartville. The family suggests memorials to the Salvation
Army, Zion Lutheran Church or to the Diabetes Association.

Ralph A. Rasmussen 1924-2014
Ralph A. Rasmussen, 90, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014, at home
in Grand Meadow, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014, at
Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow, with Pastor Beth Krolak
presiding. Burial will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church
on Friday. Hindt Funeral Home Grand Meadow, Minnesota, is in charge of
arrangements.
Ralph was born on January 31, 1923, son of Andrew and Nickolena (Jensen)
Rasmussen in Frankford Township, Mower County. He attended rural Grand
Meadow schools through the eighth grade. He farmed in the Grand Meadow
are and was a mechanic for many years at Marzolf Implement in Spring
Valley. He was a member of the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church. On September
25, 1968, he married Edith Klusmeier Rasmussen at the Grand Meadow Lutheran
Church.
Ralph is survived by his step-daughter, Donna Hall, of Grand Meadow;
step-son, Roger (Alice) Rasmussen, of Wykoff, Minn.; several
step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and
step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Betty Rasmussen and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith, in 2001;
three sisters and six brothers.

Jerome Roy Weber, 81, of Austin, Minnesota, died January 21, 2014, at his
home surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 31, 1932, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Albert and Rose
(Adams) Weber. He was the youngest of four children growing up in Johnsburg,
Minnesota, and later in Austin.
Jerry married Dorothy Gaul on March 15,1951, in Austin. To this union
six children were born.
Jerry left with the National Guard in January 1951 to go to Camp Rucker,
Alabama. He served through December 1953.
After working as a truck driver at Armstrong Truck Lines, Jerry was
mostly self-employed with repair shops and gas stations (Steer Truck Stop,
D&J Cafe and garage). He enjoyed fishing, gardening and campground hosting
at Scenic State Park in Big Fork, Minn., and Lac Qui Parle State Park in
Watson, Minn. He and Dorothy then traveled to Texas and Arkansas in the
winter.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of Austin; sons Larry
(Cynthia) Weber, of Austin; Gary (Kathy) Weber, of Austin; Mike (Carol)
Weber, of Austin; daughters Lana (Dennis) Prantner, of Austin, and Judy
Jacobson, of California. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Joseph Lammers, of Adams; and Kenneth
Gaul, of Illinois; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and
son, Steven Weber.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 25 at
Bethlehem Free Methodist Church in Austin (next to Ellis Middle School).
Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service.
Memorials to the family are preferred.

Diane K. (Harrington) Bawek 1956-2014
Diane K. Bawek, 57, of Austin, Minnesota, died at St. Marys Hospital in
Rochester Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
She was born January 25, 1956, in Austin to V.J. and Faye (Nelson)
Harrington. Diane was a graduate of Austin High School, and went on to
earn her cosmetology degree from Austin Community College. She was united
in marriage to Don Nystel on Oct. 28, 1972. They later divorced. She married
Mike Bawek on June 18, 1988. For many years, Diane had been part owner and
operator of Adam & Eve Hair Styling in Austin. She enjoyed gardening,
camping, and creating stained glass and other crafts, and loved blues
music. Diane was very proud of establishing Cancer Courage Support
Group in Austin.
Survivors include her children, Haylie Bawek, of Austin; Don (Kim)
Nystel, of Austin; and Dustin (Molly) Nystel, of Woodbury, Minn.;
grandchildren, Lilly, Fayth, Madison, and Elijah; parents, V.J. "Bud" and
Faye Harrington, of Austin; siblings, Dan (Molly) Harrington, of Edina,
Minn.; Duane (Sherrie) Harrington, of Burnsville, Minn.; Dawn (Mike)
Nelson, of Lake City, Minn.; and Dean (Lynda) Harrington, of Cottage
Grove, Minn.; her companion for the last seven years, Brian Leuning, of
Austin; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Bawek, on December
12, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at
Crane Community Chapel with the Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, at
Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and will continue Monday afternoon for
one hour prior to services, at church.
Interment will be at Lansing Cemetery in the spring.

Lois J. (Ryan) Hays 1922-2014
Lois J. Hays, 91, of Austin, Minnesota, died Wednesday, January 22,
2014, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota.
Lois Janet Ryan was born March 9, 1922, in Dover Township, Olmsted
County, the daughter of Joseph and Celia (Pearce) Ryan. She attended
school in the Whitewater Valley area and was married to Clifford Eugene
Hays on May 27, 1946, at the First United Methodist Church in Austin. Lois
worked in food service at Austin High School for many years, retiring as
the head cook.
Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had many
hobbies including knitting and ceramics. She was a great cook and she and
Cliff loved to garden and can the produce. They had traveled throughout
the lower 48 states and liked to dance.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Clifford and brothers Earl
Glen and Lyle Ryan.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy (Hays) and Jon
Romer, of Cass Lake, Minnesota; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and
Cheryl Hays, of Austin; Chad and Cheri Hays, of Stewartville, Minnesota;
grandchildren, Anders Romer and Kristin Klapste, Kirstin Romer, Tanya Hays
and Jason Kearns, Lisa and Eric Feuchtenberger, Christal Hays and Jean
Braam, Jason Hays, Joe and Ali Hays, Bridget Hays; great grandchildren,
Kalvin Hays, Landon Kearns, Meika Hays-Kearns, Ava Feuchtenberger and Ila
Feuchtenberger; sisters Lorraine Kroening, of St. Charles, Minn.; Carol

Margaret Lang Robertson 1809-1896
Mrs. Georfie (sic) Robertson, aged 86 years, died, last Sunday, from
injuries received from falling down stairs a few days prior to her death.
Deceased was the mother of John H. Robertson, Mrs. Thos. Dugan and Mrs.
J.C. Moreland, of this city. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon.

Ohnstad in Steele County, Minn. She was united in marriage to Harley Dahle
on December 7, 1947, in Owatonna, Minnesota. Merdis was a homemaker and
farm wife. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and crafts. She was a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church and the Helping Hand Club. Merdis was active in
her church and Ladies Aid.
Merdis is survived by her son, Willard (Diane) Dahle, of Waltham;
daughters, Vera (Henry) LaCaze, of Fremont, Calif.; Susan (David) Osburn,
of Fredericksburg, Texas; Lori (Ronald) Duehlmeyer, of Mankato, Minnesota;
seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Deanna

Ann Marie (Maricle) Miller 1948-2014
Ann Marie Miller, 65, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died at her
home Friday morning, January 24, 2014, after a six-month battle with cancer.
She was born September 3, 1948, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of
Marvin and Elvera Pauline (Hilbrich) Maricle. She grew up in Austin and
graduated from Austin High School in 1966. Ann lived in Austin and on
September 4, 1976, she was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Richard
Miller. The couple made their home and raised their family on a farm
in Newry Township, Freeborn County, Minn. After Larry's death on April
29, 2004, Ann moved to Blooming Prairie. She was an active member of St.
Marys Catholic Church and WCCW of Newry Township. Ann enjoyed reading,
baking, watching her grandchildren and collecting Elvis memorabilia.
Survivors include her children, Ginger (Mike) Williams, of Kensett, Iowa;
Teresa (Todd) Drees, of Blooming Prairie; Karen (Barry) Tienter, of
Rollingstone, Minnesota; Bonnie (Ryan) Trotman, of Northfield, Minnesota;
Tina (Erick) Borgen and Mark (Vanessa) Miller, all of Blooming Prairie; 17
grandchildren, A.J. (Kelli), Kenna, Jennifer, Samantha, Brett, Derek,

Eric Michael Lindquist c1976-2014

Eric M. Lindquist, 37, of Shakopee, Minnesota, formerly of Austin,
Minnesota, and Madelia, Minnesota, died in an ice fishing accident.
Born in Austin. 1994 graduate of New Ulm High School and 2004 graduate
of Minnesota State University - Mankato. Long-haul trucker for past eight
years, mostly with Swift Trans., of Phoenix, Arizona. He enjoyed
snowmobiling, ATVs, skiing, fishing, boating, and hiking. As a youth he
excelled in basketball, baseball, tennis and track. He also played football
and soccer.
Survived by mother, Joan Lindquist, of Grand Forks, North Dakota;
father, Bruce Lindquist, of Shakopee; grandmothers, Arlene Lindquist, of
St. Louis Park, Minnesota; Esther Vandervort, of Crookston, Minn.; uncles
and aunts, Ken (Patty) Lindquist, of Crystal, Minnesota; and Arlo (Hanna)
Lindquist, of Corcoran, Minnesota; Wayne and Sandy Vandervort, both of
Crookston; cousins and friends.

Ice fisherman remains missing
SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA (AP) -- A Shakopee father and his brother have spent
hours scouring the paths along the Minnesota River looking for his son who
disappeared after going ice fishing.
Bruce Lindquist says his 37-year-old son, Eric, walked from their townhome
Tuesday evening with his auger and fishing gear to his favorite fishing spot
along the river in Veterans Memorial Park.
Searchers used a hovercraft and divers to search the river Thursday. A
State Patrol helicopter has also been used in the search, but so far there's
been no sign of the fisherman.

Body of missing fisherman found
SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA (AP) -- Police say a body found in the Minnesota
River in Shakopee is believed to be that of a missing fisherman.
Thirty-seven-year-old Eric Lindquist was last seen Tuesday evening when
he headed to the river in Veterans Memorial Park with his auger and fishing
gear.
His father and his uncle joined searchers looking for Lindquist. Shakopee
police say a body found Friday by Scott County Sheriff's Dep[artment is
believed to be Lindquist's.

Body confirmed that of missing fisherman
SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA (AP) -- Hennepin County authorities have confirmed
that a body found in the Minnesota River in Shakopee is that of a missing
fisherman.
The medical examiner's office said Saturday that 37-year-old Eric Michael
Lindquist died of drowning and hypothermia. His death has been listed as
accidental.
Authorities say Lindquist was declared dead Friday about 10 a.m. He
was last seen Tuesday evening when he headed to the river in Veterans
Memorial Park with his auger and fishing gear.

Dustin Richard Leidall 1981-2014
Dustin Richard Leidall, 32, of Albert Lea, Minnesota, died Wednesday,
January 22, 2014, in Austin, Minnesota.
He was born in Austin on June 13, 1981, to Richard and Kimberly (Seys)
Leidall. He attended school in Austin. Dustin enrolled in the Army National
Guard and served his country until March of 2000. Dustin married Marissa
Tuttle on April 16, 2011, in Austin. He worked as a laborer for several
businesses such as Martin's Power Washing in Austin, McDonald's and HyVee
in Albert Lea.
Dustin enjoyed bow hunting, ice fishing, football, hockey and loved
spending time with his children.
Dustin is survived by his wife, Marissa, of Albert Lea; children,
Jayden, Jagger, Adrey, Lilliah, Evnoy-Ann and Annaleah; parents, Kim
Leidall (Dan Embrickson), of Austin; and Richard (Jeanette) Leidall,

Gerald Keith Plowman 1929-2014
Gerald Keith Plowman died January 1, 2014.
He was born on August 20, 1929, in Otranto, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. George
Plowman. He moved to Lyle, Minnesota, in March of 1936, where he attended
country school through the eighth grade and farmed with his folks and
brother, Mahlon. In 1963, he moved with his parents to Monument, Colorado. He
worked for LPW Asphalt Paving in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 20 years.
Gerald loved Jesus. He was a member of the Monument Hill Baptist Church,
where he was baptized, served as an usher and also worked in maintenance.
He loved his church family and doing what he could for them all. He
especially enjoyed being with his nieces and nephews, and later his
great-nieces and nephews. "Uncle" loved the stock car races, and went
to them many Friday nights with several teenagers in tow.
He had a great laugh, which made everyone else laugh right along with
him. He taught parallel parking at the ranch and rode along for many
practice runs around the track before driving tests. His favorite song
was "The Old Gray Mare, She Ain't What She Used To Be," and loved to sing
it with great gusto.
Gerald was a resident of Pikes Peak Care Center, where he died New
Years Day.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Plowman;
niece, Cindie Raines.
He is survived by his brother, Mahlon Plowman; sister-in-law, Ramona
Plowman; two nephews, Jeff (Twila) and Dave (Donna) Plowman; a niece,
Debbie (Edsel) Miller; ten great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4, at Swan-Law Cascade Chapel
in Colorado Springs. Cemetery services were held Monday, Jan. 6, at Monument
Cemetery in Monument, Colorado.

M. Lorraine Highet, age 99 of Austin died peacefully on Monday, January
27, 2014, at St. Marks Lutheran Home, surrounded by her loving family.
M. Lorraine Miller was born April 5, 1914 in Canton, Minnesota to Frank
and Geneva Miller. She grew up in Zumbrota, Minnesota, completing high
school in Zumbrota before graduating from St. Lucas Hospital School of
Nursing. On April 19, 1937, Lorraine and Kenneth A. Highet were married
at her parents' home. The couple moved to Austin in 1937 after they were
married, and became members of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Lorraine enjoyed
hunting, fishing, hiking in the woods, and especially her role as homemaker.
Survivors include her son David (Della) Highet of Kentucky, her
daughter-in-law Barb Highet of Austin, Minnesota, former daughter-in-law
Ione (Vern) Spear of Rochester; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren,
four great-great-grandchildren, and many wonderful nieces & other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Highet in 2001, two
sons Kenneth D. and Duane Highet, one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1,
2014 at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Todd Portinga,
Associate in Ministry, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour
prior to the service at Worlein Funeral Home. Interment will be in
Oakwood Cemetery. The family prefers that memorials be directed to
St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Worlein Funeral Home, Austin, is assisting
the family with arrangements.
