Leonard L. Rehnelt 1919-2013
#1: DEATH NOTICE--
Leonard L. Rehnelt, 93, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, June 18, 2013,
at his home.
Service: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, June
21, 2013, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Visitation: There will be a 5 p.m. rosary on Thursday at Mayer Funeral
Home where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will also greet
friends at a luncheon following the service.
Interment: Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites
by American Legion Post No. 91 and VFW Post No. 1216.

Obituary for Leonard L. Rehnelt
Leonard L. Rehnelt, age 93, of Austin, died peacefully at his home with
his family by his side, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
Leonard was born August 17, 1919 in Heron Lake, Minnesota to Steven and
Julia (Hrdina) Rehnelt. He grew up on the family farm and attended a small
country school.
Leonard served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He was
wounded in the Battle of Guadalcanal for which he received a Purple Heart.
After recovering from his wounds, he was returned to his unit on Bouganville
Island, in the Solomon Islands. He served with distinction and received
several accommodations.
Leonard married LeVonne Opsahl on June 15, 1946 in Albert Lea, Minnesota
and remained married until LeVonne's death on November 13, 2010. Following
their marriage, the couple lived in Austin where they raised their family.
Leonard worked at Hormel Foods and retired in 1982. He enjoyed the outdoors
and spent time hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids. He also was
an avid gardener and especially loved growing flowers. Leonard spent most
weekends and vacations with family and friends at the “trailer” on the
Mississippi River near Wabasha, Minnesota. He was a member of Queen of
Angels Catholic Church, V.F.W., American Legion, Eagles, and Moose Club.
Survivors include six children, Sandi (Harold) Brandt, Austin, Minnesota,
Steven (Rita) Rehnelt, Wabasha, Minnesota, Jeanette (Steven) Myers,
Claremont, Minnesota, Roberta (Mark) Aswegan, Ramsey, Minnesota, Michael
(Lila) Rehnelt, Hayfield, Minnesota, Robert Rehnelt, Zumbrota, Minnesota;
11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, LeVonne, he is preceded in death by his
parents; grandson, Tracy; one brother; and four sisters.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Mayo Clinic Home Hospice for
their excellent care and support. Also special thanks to Sister Pat and
Sister Francine for their visits.

Eugene Alan "Gene" Snyder 1928-2013

Gene Alan Snyder, 84, Grand Meadow
Gene Alan Snyder, 84, of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, died of pancreatic
cancer on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Spring Valley Care Center.
Gene was born September 11, 1928, in Austin, Minnesota, the son of
Peter and Julia (Guiney) Snyder. He later moved to Grand Meadow and
served in the United States Army in Korea, where he attained the rank
of sergeant. Gene lived with his wife, Addie, in rural Grand Meadow for
57 years until three days prior to his death.
Gene enjoyed woodworking, reading, Westerns, fishing and agriculture.
His career included farming, carpentry, machining and ag-related sales,
which he especially enjoyed. Most of all, he delighted in spending time
with his wife and family.
Gene is survived by his wife, Adeline “Addie” (Malecek) Snyder of
Grand Meadow; two daughters, Laurie Snyder of Rochester and Kim (Russ)
Bultman of Eufaula, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Candace (Reed) Snyder of
Spring Valley, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Craig (Lari) Meyer, Thomas
Lantz, Anna (D.J.) Werner, Lindsey Snyder, Pamela Sherman, Katie Thorie,
and Emmy (Gabe) Bly; great-granddaughter, Haley Mattsen; two sisters, Sr.
Ruth Snyder of Rochester and Mariah Snyder of the Twin Cities; brother Paul
(Irene) Snyder of Grand Meadow; and sister-in-law Alice Snyder of
Grand Meadow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John "J.T." Snyder; three
sisters, Mary, Catherine and Angie; and two brothers, John and Joseph.

Lowell Harold Haug 1924-2013
Lowell H. Haug, 88, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, June 11,
1913, at Mayo Health Systems Austin.
Lowell Harold Haug was born September 30, 1924, at New Richland, Minnesota,
the son of David E. and Luella (Evenson) Haug. He graduated from the
New Richland High School and served in the U.S. Army. Lowell was the
recipient of a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart during his service in the Army.
Lowell was married to Orlie Mae Farr on January 1, 1950, at Geneva,
Minnesota. The Haugs resided in Austin, where Lowell worked at the Hormel
Foods Corporation until the time of his retirement. He was a member of
St. Olaf Lutheran Church, serving on the Board of Deacons, and the Church
Council. He was a member of the Sons of Norway and had been the recipient
of the Silver Beaver Award while he served as a Boy Scout Leader.
He was a devoted family man and loving father and grandfather. He
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their concerts
and sporting events. In his younger days, he was a softball player and he
became an avid shuffleboard player when he and Orlie spent a number of
winters in Texas. They also traveled several times to Europe in their
retirement.
Lowell was preceded in death by his wife Orlie in 2007; a son, Bruce
Haug; his parents; and a brother Dale.
He is survived by daughters, Lois Nordling, Edina, Minn., Brenda Haug
and Diane Jacobson, Columbia Heights, Minn., Pauline Haug, Eagan, Minn.;
sons and daughters-in-law, Arden and Janna Haug, Stillwater, Minn., Myron
and Sue Haug, Winona, Minn., Jean Henle, Marshall, Minn.; brother and
sister-in-law, Richard and Arlyss Haug, Clarks Grove, Minn.; sister Irene
Wanous, Owatonna, Minn.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday June 14, 2013, at St. Olaf
Lutheran Church with the Rev. Elizabeth Endicott officiating. Military rites
conducted by Austin Post No. 91 American Legion. Interment will be in the
Geneva Cemetery, Geneva, Minn. Visitation will be held on Friday at St. Olaf
Lutheran Church from noon until 12:45 p.m. Memorials may be directed to
St. Olaf Lutheran Church, The Geneva Cemetery Fund or to the donor's
choice. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Agnes E. (Arett) Schultz 1919-2013
Agnes E. Schultz, 93, of Austin, Minnesota, wife of Frank W. Schultz
(deceased), died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Sacred Heart Care Center.
Agnes was born on December 19, 1919, in Austin to George and Ellen
(Torgerson) Arett. She was married to Frank W. Schultz and spent most of
her life in Austin. She was a retiree from Geo. A. Hormel & Co after 43
years of work there. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
Agnes is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Frank D. and Janice
Schultz, Young Harris, Georgia; granddaughters, Amy (Jeffrey) Bowman,
Fairburn, Georgia, and Nickole and Dell Smith, Tuscaloosa, Alabama;
great-grandchildren, Katherine Le, Elizabeth Suzette and Jake; sister:
Merle Cahill, Austin.
A private graveside service was held. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary was in
charge of arrangements.

Roger Laverne Svejkovsky 1925-2013
Roger L. Svejkovsky, 88, of Austin, Minnesota, died at his home
on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Roger Laverne was born on March 3, 1925, on the Svejkovsky family
farm located near London, Freeborn County, Minnesota, to Albie and
Albin Svejkovsky. He graduated from Austin High School in 1943.
Roger worked for a defense plant in California during World War II,
and later attended watchmaker's school at Bradley University in Peoria,
Illinois, Returning to Austin, he worked at Scoville Jewelers for two
years serving his apprenticeship under the guidance of Clarence Grabarkiwicz.
In 1948, he started his own business, Rogers Jewelers, in Austin.
In 1951, Roger married Betty Engwall in Minneapolis, Minn. After 34
years as a jeweler, watchmaker and goldsmith, Roger and his wife Betty
retired in 1980. Roger was ably assisted in his business by his wife,
Betty, and his sister, Lucille.
Roger enjoyed flying and learned to fly at the Austin airport. He was an
avid golfer and fisherman. After giving up flying, he and Betty chose to
take up traveling by motorhome. They traveled to every state as well as
Europe and spent their winters in Florida and later California.
During his many years of playing golf at the Austin Country Club, he
had two hole-in-ones. He belonged to the Austin Country Club, SCORE and
the Moose, serving as secretary for one term. He also was a one time
Rotary member and a member of MMUA and FMCA.
Roger was elected mayor in 1962 and served his term until 1964,
choosing not to run for re-election. He was appointed to the Utility
Board in 1969 and he served 14 years as a commissioner and six years as
president of the board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Adolph and
Clarence; two sisters, Lillian and Lucille; and his infant son, David.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Betty; sisters-in-law, Rosella
Svejkovsky, and Dee Aitchison; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 at
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Dale R. Christiansen officiating.
Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the mortuary
for one hour before the service on Saturday morning.

Burton E. Boe 1936-2013
Burton E. Boe, 77, West Concord
Burton E. Boe, 77, of West Concord, Minnesota, died Monday, June 10, 2013,
at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Burton was born June 7, 1936, in Udolpho Township, Minn., the son
of Norman and Jessie (Bryant) Boe. Attended country school and then
school in West Concord where he moved with his family in 1948. Burton
then entered the United States Army serving his country from 1959-1961,
and was then in the Army reserves. He was part owner of Rounds and Boe
excavating, and then worked for Martin Bustad for a short period before
working for Ulland Bros. Construction for 27 years.
He married Linda Wencl November of 1963, and the couple
later divorced. Burton married Marilyn Seavey on June 30,
1984, and the couple made their home in West Concord.
Burton was a past mayor of West Concord and served on the fire department
and ambulance crew. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring antique cars
with his brother Arlo and on his own. He enjoyed his grandchildren,
hunting, fishing, going to auctions and flea markets, and always being
available to help others.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Boe of West Concord; five daughters
Karla Boe of Austin, Kristine Boe of Austin, Kari (Matt) Swigerd of Willmar,
Amy (Ron) Flicek of West Concord, and Joan Boe of West Concord; 10
grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Leonelli of Toelle,
Utah, Marguerite (Greg) Alberts of Tomahawk, Wis., Zoa (Jim) Heckman of
Wells; four brothers Peter (Signora) of West Concord, Arthur (Myrtie Ann)
of Faribault, Ervin (Susie) of Dover, Stanley (Tammy) of Faribault;
sister-in-law, Lois Boe of West Concord; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Norman "Arlo" Boe.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord on
Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. and at Trinity Lutheran
Church, West Concord on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services
will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran
Church, West Concord with the Rev. Chris Brekke officiating. Interment
will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.

Delma N. "Mickey" (Gnade) Perrin 1928-2013
WATERLOO, IOWA - Delma N. "Mickey" Perrin, 84, of Waterloo, died at home
Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
She was born October 20, 1928, in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, daughter of Carl
and Mable Shaw Gnade. She married Glenn Richmond on November 23, 1948, in
Cedar Rapids. He died July 10, 1987. She married Robert Bruce Perrin on
January 7, 1989, in Waterloo.
Mrs. Perrin graduated from Waterloo East High School and had worked
at Rath Packing Co. in the sliced bacon department for 32 years, retiring
in 1978. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survived by: her husband; a daughter, Rhonda (Todd) of Center Point;
two sons, Larry (Kathy) of Ballwin, Missouri, and Sam (Candy) of Waterloo;
six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Doris of
Elk Run Heights and Ruth of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: two sisters, Helen and Gladys; and two brothers,
Roland “Bud” and Kenneth.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with
burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday
at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel and an hour before services Saturday
at the church.

Alice M. (Peterson) Bowe 1922-2013
Obituary
Alice M. Bowe, age 91 of Austin, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the
home of her daughter. Alice Marion Peterson was born June 3, 1922 in
Fountain, Minnesota to Raymond E. and Cora J. (Rogstead) Peterson. She
attended school in Fountain and worked on the family farm until her
marriage to William M. Bowe on October 15, 1940 in Preston, Minnesota.
The couple lived in Chatfield before moving to Austin in the early 1940s.
Alice worked at the Geo. A. Hormel & Company until after World War II, when
she decided to stay at home to raise her family. A member of St. Olaf
Lutheran Church in Austin, Alice enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and
playing bingo.
Survivors include her children Mary Dennison, Beverly Ingersoll and
Wanda (Tom) Engelman, all of Austin; 10 grandchildren Lon, Bill, Robin,
Mike, Dena, Allen, Brandon, Amy, Pete, and Dan; 28 great grandchildren;
10 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Betty Peterson of Sun City,
Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Cora Peterson,
her husband William Bowe in 2002, her great granddaughter Jessica Haskin,
two son-in-laws Frank Dennison and Larry Ingersoll, her brother Charles
Peterson, her sister Pearl Ingvaldson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at
St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastor Kristi Koppel officiating.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the
family. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with
arrangements.

Susan Kay (Bailey) Carr 1955-2013
Susan Kay Carr, 58, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at
St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
Susan was born January 2, 1955, in Austin to Donald and Joyce (Chinander)
Bailey. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa, for 28 years before moving back to
Austin. She was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church until it
closed, and then became a member of First United Methodist. Susan was a
loving mother to her three children, whom she loved very much.
Survivors include her children Amber (DeMarco) Turner, Eric (Sheila)
Carr and Lee (Tiffany) Howard, all of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren
Kyree, Alijah, Lakayla, Erica, Neriah, Aaliyah and Rilee, all of Des Moines;
her mother, Joyce Bailey of Austin; her sister, Penny (Dennis) Sanderson of
Eau Claire, Wis.; her brothers, Rod (Rose) Bailey of Austin, Gary Bailey of
Kansas and Bob (Susan) Bailey of Austin; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Donald Bailey and longtime love
and husband of 27 years, Albert Lee Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013,
at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Pastor Marilee Benson
officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at
Worlein Funeral Home. Memorials can be directed to the family. Interment

Clifford Eugene Wold 1927-2013
Clifford Eugene Wold, 85, of Pinole, California, died Thursday, June 6,
2013, at home.
Clifford was born September 9, 1927, in Austin, Minnesota, to Harvey
and Mary (Duffy) Wold. He attended high school in Austin and later went
to the Milwaukee Institute of Engineering. He married Vera (O’Bryan) Wold
July 8, 1948 in St. Francis, South Dakota.
Clifford worked at Hormel in Austin, and also at Del Monte in Emerville,
California, and C&H Sugar in Vallejo, Calif. He was a member of the Moose
Club, VFW, Indian Guides, and was a scout master of the Boy Scouts. He
enjoyed traveling and owned a rollercade and Wold Electric. In his free
time, he liked to collect coins and other items.
Clifford is survived by his daughter, Rosemary (Dan) Yoerns of
Phoenix, Arizona; sons, Brian (Debbie) Wold of San Pablo, Calif.,
Leo (Vicky) Wold of Mason City, Iowa, and Jerry (Jeannie) Wold of
Pittsburg, Calif; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Wold; sister, Janice Lestrud;
mother, Mary Wold; father, Harvey Wold; and granddaughter Rachael Ellis.
A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at
Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif.

C. Vernon (Vern) Olson, 89, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday morning
June 17, 2013, at St. Marks Lutheran Home.
Service: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 at
the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. William Odermann officiating.
Visitation: Visitation will be Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the
time of the service at the mortuary.
Interment: Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

C. Vernon Olson, 89, Austin
C. Vernon "Vern" Olson, 89, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, June
17, 2013, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
Carl Vernon Olson was born July 30, 1923, in Lynch, Nebraska The son of
Clarence and Jessie (Erickson) Olson, Clarence was a farmer. Vern had one
younger brother Dean who was born three months before Vern's father was
killed in a car accident.
In 1931, Vern's mother remarried Harold Nelson and they later moved
to Poplar, Wis. Vern played the trombone in the band and graduated from
Beresford High School in 1941, he later went on and attended college in
Grand Island, Nebraska.
On July 3, 1949, he married Amaryllis Schoenecke in Madison, South
Dakota, they had met on double date. To this union two daughters were
born, Debby and Becky. Amaryllis was a registered nurse and Vern was a
farm machinery salesman. They moved to Austin, where Vern was a salesman
with Holiday Cars.
Vern was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Austin Elks Club.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debby Ihrke; and
brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Corlie Olson.
Vern is survived by his wife Amaryllis Olson; daughter and sons-in-law
Becky and Rich Johnson of Gilbert, Arizona, Keith Ihrke of Clearwater,
Minnesota; three grandchildren, Tara Fossey (Chad) of Eagle, Idaho,
Vaughn Ihrke (Kelly) of Isanti, Minnesota, Kelly Marvin (Nathan) of
Clearwater; three great-grandchildren: Lilly Fossey, Neva Ihrke and
Noah Ihrke; nephew Jeff Olson, Houston, Texas, Tom (Dede) Olson, Parker,
Colorado; niece Laurie (Tom) McGrath, Poplar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at
Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. William Odermann officiating.
Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the
mortuary on Friday morning for one hour before the service.

Raymond Jerome Aaby, 59, of Austin, Minnesota died Sunday, June 16,
2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
He was born November 28, 1953 in Austin to Richard and Rosemary
(Bischoff) Aaby. He was a graduate of Austin High School and worked
for the University of Minnesota as an environmental service worker.
Ray liked to tinker with electronics and was an avid ham radio operator.
He was a member of the Austin Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge. He was also
a storm watcher.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald Aaby. He is
survived by a brother Rick Aaby, nephews: Ashley Aaby and Aric Aaby and
sister-in-law Diane Aaby.

LEROY, MINNESOTA - M. S. Taylor, 75, died Tuesday at the Community
Hospital at Spring Valley. Services were held on Thursday at the United
Methodist Church at chester. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery at Brownsdale,
Minnesota.
Survivors are his wife, Lou; six daughters: Mrs. Joe Walker and Mrs.
Kenneth Legler of Austin, Minnesota, Mrs. Claude Back of Ostrander,
Minnesota, Mrs. Harold Blake of Albert Lea, Minn., Mrs. Eugene Stewart,
of Racine, Minn, and Mrs. Corall Fortney; three sons: Mabre, Jr. of
Spring Valley, Minn., Delmar of Waterloo, Iowa, John and James of
Cedar Falls, Iowa; four brothers, Clovy of Dexter, Minnesota, Jack
of Boardman, Oregon, Virgil of Seymour, Iowa, and Fay of Stewartville,
Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Vicroy of Elk River, Minn., and Mrs.
Floy McCloud of LeRoy; and numerous grandchildren. Martz-Hutchins Funeal

LaDonna June Peterson 1933-2013
LaDonna June Peterson died at the Kahl Nursing Home in Davenport,
Iowa, on May 29, 2013. Per her wishes, LaDonna was cremated. There will
be graveside services at Grand View Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota, Saturday,
June 22, at 2 p.m.
LaDonna, one of 10 children born to Sanford and Leona Peterson, was
born in 1933 on a farm near Austin. She attended Austin schools and
graduated from Austin Central High School in 1951. She went to Washington,
D.C., two weeks after graduation to work in the executive office of the
Secretary of the Navy.
In January 1953, she moved to Los Angeles, California, and worked
in the private sector. Then in June 1954, she was asked if she would
be interested in working for the Dept. of Army in Europe. She accepted
and went to Heidelberg, Germany, and worked as the secretary to the
officer that headed European chemical warfare section. She loved to
travel and did travel to most of Europe while living in Germany.
She then returned to Los Angeles to work in the private sector
again until 1960. She then was offered a position with the State Dept
in Lagos, Nigeria, where she worked for the State Department's Agency
for International Development.
Her love of the southern California weather drew her back to Los Angeles.
She worked for several companies until she decided to get a college
education. She received her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2 1/2
years at Cal State.
She then worked for a couple companies until she took a job at The
Ben Holt Company. This was a geo thermal engineering company which ended
up being part of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate. She
retired in 1999 as vice president, treasurer and secretary of the Ben
Holt Company.
LaDonna became ill and moved to Davenport, Iowa, in 2012 to be near
family. LaDonna was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the
pleasure of knowing her.
Those left to honor her memory include her sisters, Dorothy (Jim)
Osmonson of Austin, Sharon (Duane) Hauge of Glenville, Minn.; brother,
Robert (Tina) Peterson of Davenport, Iowa; sister-in-law Donna Peterson
of Burnsville, Minn.; brother-in-law Bill Meier of Los Angeles, Calif;
and many nieces and nephews who all loved her very much. She was preceded
in death by her parents; sisters, Maxine Thompson, and Ilene Meier; and
brothers, Merle, Donald, Floyd Laverne and Douglas. Online condolences

Donald Eugene McCollar 1941-2013
Donald Eugene McCollar, 72, Kearney, Nebraska.
Donald Eugene McCollar, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in
his home town of Kearney, Neb.
Donald was born April 12, 1941, in Nebraska to Chester and Francis
McCollar. He lived in Austin, Minn., for 20 years and Idaho for five
years. He was a member of Austin Christian Fellowship. Donald married
Barbara Draayer (McCollar) on Aug. 22, 1992. He worked various jobs
along with nine years at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin, where he
met his wife, Barbara. He also went to Riverland Community College for
off-set printing. Donald was very good at writing poems.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara McCollar of Austin; son from
a previous marriage, Donald Matt McCollar in Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister
Janet Bystrom, Kearney; nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers
in law and many friends.
Preceded Donald in death were both his parents and sister Clara
Mae Vanderloft of Idaho.
Funeral services were June 15, 2013, in Kearney, Nebraska, with
military rites performed; Donald served in both the Army and the
Navy. A memorial is planned for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013,
at Twin Towers, 200 First Ave. NE in Austin.

Mary Ann (Tostenson) Storry, 87, Woodbury
Mary Ann Storry, 87, of Woodbury, Minnesota, and formerly of Austin,
Minnesota, died on June 17, 2013.
Mary Ann received her education degree at Winona State University
and taught in the Austin Public Schools until her retirement. She was
a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by husbands Dale B. Tostenson and Lyle
E. Storry.
She is survived by daughter Priscilla (Ken) Hoffmann; son Gene (Judy)
Storry; eight grandchildren and their families; sister Gerda (Ross)
Stearns; brother Lawrence Petersen; nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service Friday, June 21 at 2 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery,
Austin. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22 at 2 p.m.,
with a gathering from 1 to 2 p.m. at Woodbury United Methodist Church;
7465 Steepleview Road, Woodbury. Arrangements are by
Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home.

Mary Alice Anderson, 81, of Austin, Minnesota, died Tuesday, June 18,
2013 at Austin Mayo Health Systems Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Frank and Ellamae
(Stettler) Boughner. Mary graduated from high school in Rochester,
Minnesota in 1949, Austin Community College in 1971 and Mankato State
University in 1973. She was a licensed Public Accountant beginning her
career with Stupka and Morem followed by her own practice and concluding
with Hill and Larson in Austin. She was past president of the Minnesota
Association of Public Accountants and was president of the Austin Business
and Professional Women. Mary was an avid golfer and active in the Lady's
Club at Ramsay. She was a parishioner at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Boughner,
sisters-in-law: Phyllis House, Beverly Anderson and Catherine Skinner,
brother-in-law Roger Dixon, nieces and nephews: Teri Exe and Randy and
Larry Dixon.
She is survived by her husband Delmer Anderson of Austin, daughter
Jan (Anderson) and husband Richard Madsen of Grimes, Iowa, sister-in-law
Janet Boughner, nephews: Jay (Michelle) Boughner of Ramsay, Minnesota,
Jon (Tina) Boughner of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Steve (Cecelia) House of

Charles City High School. Over the years he worked at White Farm Equipment
Company and the Hormel Food Corporation. He was a member of the Sons of
the American Legion. Curtis was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and also
enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He will be remembered as
a person who enjoyed playing jokes.
Living family members include his mother Betty Kluwe of Charles City;
three siblings, Pam (Ken) Boge of Orchard, Greg (Mary) Townsley of Lyle,
Minnesota, and Tam Townsley of Tiffin; six nieces and nephews, Kenny (Deb)
Boge, Aaron (Julie) Boge, Amy (Tony) McFarland, Tanya (Jeff) Jensen, Ashley
(Jeff) Higgins and Nikki Townsley; several great nieces and nephews; along
with other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald and his step-father

David Osmundson 1933-2013
David "Wootsie" Osmundson, 80, of Austin, Minnesota, died on Wednesday,
June 19, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
David Myron was born on April 23, 1933, in Adams, Minnesota, to
Herbie and Margie (Christenson) Osmundson. He graduated from Adams
High School with the class of 1951. David served in the U.S. Army from
1953 to 1955. He married Arthamese "Ardy" Titus on January 2, 1965, at
Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
He was a co-owner of Osmundson Brothers Construction and Implement
in Adams, Minnesota. David was an avid golfer, who in retirement said the
golf course was his “office,” and he enjoyed bowling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harold, Lloyd
and Jerry; and nephew Jason.
David is survived by his wife, Ardy Osmundson, Austin; daughters and
sons-in-law, Robin Osmundson, Austin, Dana and Brian Hegge, Austin, Kristi
and Eric Keath, Faribault, Minn.; grandchildren, Hailey Osmundson, Courtney,
Mitchel and Carlie Hegge, Erika and Cullen Keath; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Donis and Bernard Hukee, Louisville, Ky., Diane
and Robert Smith, Adams, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Cleo Ann Osmundson,
Adams, Donna Osmundson, Adams; aunt, Lois Osmundson, Adams; nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22 at First
Congregational Church with the Rev. Shari Mason officiating. Interment

Irene was born May 5, 1920. She was a member and volunteer at St. Edward's
Catholic Church.
Survivors include four children, Patricia (James) Hansen, Bruce (Dianne)

great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen;

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and two granddaughters.

Lester C. Burdine 1921-2013
Lester C. Burdine, 91, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away at Sacred
Heart Care Center on Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
Lester was born on December 14, 1921, in Lidderdale, Iowa, to William
Bluford and Augusta (Heyn) Burdine. He graduated from Glidden High School
(Carroll County) in Iowa in 1939. He was married to Anita Anne Riedesel on
August 16, 1942, in Prairie de Sac, Wis. Lester served two years in the
Navy during World War II in San Diego, Calif., and worked as a medical
lab technician. He moved to Churdan, Iowa, with his wife after being
discharged from the Navy, where he owned a Phillips Gasoline bulk plant
business. The family moved to Austin in 1951. He was employed by the
George A. Hormel meat packing plant where he worked for 31 1/2 years
before retiring.
Les and Anita spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona. He was an active
member of First United Methodist Church.
Les was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Scott, Wilbur (Jim)
and Edward; sisters Ruby and Lillian; and daughter-in-law Delores (Miller)
Burdine.
Lester is survived by his wife Anita Burdine, Austin; son and
daughter-in-law Lloyd and Sandy Burdine, Rosemount, Minnesota; daughters
and sons-in-law Marlys and Wayne Rossow, Austin, Ronnelle and Dave Jaeger,
Red Wing, Minnesota; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at First
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marilee A. Benson officiating.

Maxine Marie (Arens) Christensen 1921-2013
Maxine Marie (Arens) Christensen, 92, of Austin, Minnesota, died
Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Austin Mayo Health Systems Hospital.
Maxine was born January 4, 1921, in Austin, to Edward and Gertrude
(Skjeveland) Arens. Maxine was baptized and confirmed at St. Augustine
Church in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1938. During
World War II she worked at the Hormel offices and married Paul M.
Christensen on December 9, 1942, at Queen of Angels Church. Maxine
was a Gold Star Mother, lifetime member of the American Legion and
Women's Auxiliary, a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, beloved
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. We miss and love her
always.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; son 1st Lieutenant Jan Paul
Christensen (Vietnam); husband Paul; brothers Daniel and Eugene Arens; and
sister Virginia (Arens) Meyers. She is survived by her children Jay and
Carmilla (Cain) Christensen, Rick (Carla Cook) Christensen, Ron and Leonor
Christensen, Jeff (Ashley Haye) Christensen, Cathy and Mike Jensen;
daughter-in-law Sally (Christensen) and Duane Anderson; 16 grandchildren
and 29 great-grandchildren.

Obituary
Geraldine M. Misgen, age 97, of Austin, Minnesota, died Thursday June
20, 2013 at The Cedars of Austin.
Geraldine Mary Fairchild was born May 30, 1916 in Mohall, North Dakota,
to Earl and Nettie (Knode) Fairchild. A 1935 graduate of Chester High
School, Chester, Iowa, Geraldine moved to Austin and worked at Woolworth's
as a cashier and at Neveln Elementary School. On December 8, 1935 she
married Cecil C. Misgen in Iowa. Cecil passed away on January 23, 1990.
A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Mrs. Misgen was active
in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed several years of fishing and hunting in Max,
Minnesota. She also loved square dancing, archery, camping, and playing
cards. Geraldine was a wonderful cook. She was God mother to several nieces
and nephews. In 2008, Geraldine moved to The Cedars.
Survivors include her sister, Beverly Fairchild of Galt, California;
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and
Nettie Fairchild, her husband Cecil Misgen, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013
at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor William Odermann officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Services prearranged
and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin.

Pat Haldorson-Monson
#1:
Pat Haldorson-Monson, 80, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Austin,
Minnesota, passed away at a hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, from heart
surgery complications on June 20, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, son Bruce and daughter
Monica. Her surviving family includes her daughter Cindy, Park Rapids;
sister, Gail, Winter Springs, Florida; brother, Paul, Menahga, Minn.; and
brother, Lynn, Burnsville, Minnesota.
Pat was the daughter of Otto and Beryl Haldorson from Austin. She will
be laid to rest in Park Rapids.

JANUARY 17, 1933 TO TUESDAY, JUNE 20, 1933
Patricia Ann Monson, 80, of Park Rapids passed away peacefully Thursday
June 20, 2013 at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
She was born January 17, 1933 to Otto & Beryl Haldorson, in Austin,
Minnesota.
She attended school there and entered into marriage on November 25, 1950
to Dean Allen Monson. She became a loving mother to three children.
In 1962, Pat and her husband purchased Storyland Resort on Long Lake.
She was employed at numerous local businesses beginning with Ringers Park
Rapids and ending with her retirement from Chef Reddy Foods Park Rapids.
She was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, American Legion
Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Red Hatters, and Minnesota
Darkhouse Association.
Pat was an active sportswoman who enjoyed grouse and deer hunting,
fishing and especially dark house spearing. She has a 10-point buck and
a 20-pound northern to show for her efforts. She was the inspiration for
the Community Fishhouse which bears a plaque in her honor.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jerry) Zeney of Park Rapids;
sister, Gale (Harold) Gill of Winter Springs Fla.; brothers, Lynn (Kathy)
Haldorson of Burnsville and Paul (Myra) Haldorson of Menahga; grandchildren,
Sheila (Marlin) Heide & Jeff (Crystal) Zeney of Park Rapids, Shannon Lee
of Alaska, David Kerr of Detroit Lakes, and Angela Monson of Minneapolis;
also several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; son, Bruce; and
daughter, Monica.
Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, June 28 at St. Peter the Apostle
Catholic Church in Park Rapids. Father Thomas Friedl will be the celebrant.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
A luncheon will be held in the church Parish Center following the
services.

Irene LaVilla (Mahoney) Bye 1923-2013
Irene LaVilla Bye, 90, of Austin, Minnesota, died Friday, June 14,
2013, at MethWick Community Care Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Irene was born January. 8, 1923, in LeRoy, Minnesota, to Dennis and Hazel
(Wright) Mahoney. She graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1941, and
on July 5, 1941, married Wayne Bye in Grand Meadow. Irene and Wayne moved
from LeRoy to Austin in 1951. A member of Westminster Presbyterian Church
in Austin, Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing up north,
bird watching, playing cards, roller-skating, basketball, cooking and baking.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Gretchen) Bye of Vero Beach,
Florida; Steve (Sue) Bye of Minneapolis; one granddaughter, Susan

Jamey Jon Andersen, age 41 of Austin, died at Mayo Health Systems in
Austin Monday, June 24, 2013.
He was born January 17, 1972 to Vicky Andersen in Austin, Minnesota
where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1990. After his marriage
to Lisa Marlene Miller on May 25, 1991 in Austin, they made their home in
Bixby, Oklahoma for a short time before returning to Austin. Jamey was
employed by Hormel Foods, Corp. from 1995 until 2002 and helped his wife,
Lisa, with Emotions Floral on Main Street in Austin from 1995 until 2002
also. Later he worked at Precision Signs and most recently, at Nelson Sound.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Jamey enjoyed watching hockey and
football, driving muscle cars, especially his Pontiac GTO, and participating
in the demo derby. He was a loving father, son, husband, brother, uncle,
grandson and friend. We were blessed to have him in our lives, and the
world was a better place with him.
Survivors include his sons, Alex Andersen and Adam Andersen; his
mother, Vicky (Micheal) Arndt; sister, Andrea (Michael) Farr, all of
Austin; grandmother, Donna Andersen of Austin; nephews, Riley Nelson
and Liam Farr; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa, on July 10, 2002 and his
grandfather, Merle Andersen and aunt Julie Andersen McGuire.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013
at Grace Lutheran Church with The Reverend Jeff Forbes officiating.
Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home
in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment
is at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.

Blanche May (Monson) Nichols, 91, of Austin, Minnesota, formerly of
Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, died at Oak Park Place Assisted Living in
Albert Lea, Minnesota, Tuesday, June 25, 2013.
Blanche was born October 27, 1921, to Thoris and Thelma (Smith) Monson
at home in Gordonsville, Minnesota. She graduated from Onamia High School
and went to work in the office at Josten's in Owatonna, Minnesota. She
married Byron Nichols in Iowa on June 15, 1940. They made their home in
Blooming Prairie, where they raised six daughters. Byron passed away on
May 16, 1986. Blanche moved to Austin, where she lived at Burr Oak
Apartments until moving to Oak Place Assisted Living in Albert Lea. While
living in Austin, Blanche attended Grace Baptist Church and remained a
member of First Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce (Jay) Fawver of Austin, Jan Hansen
of Austin, Janelle (Kenneth) Thorson of Glenville, Judy (Bruce) Love of
Springfield, Colorado, Jolene (Kevin) Enerson of Bemidji, Jeanine (Curtis)
Kolterman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 21 grandchildren, including two honorary
grandchildren; more than 53 great-grandchildren; 17
great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karene (Lemoyne) Jones of
Little Rock, Arkansas, and Margaret (J.P.) Hutson of Big Sandy, Texas;
two brothers, Gary (Thelma) Monson of California and Phillip (Sherry)
Swensrud of Albert Lea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Byron; two
grandchildren; one great-grandson; a son-in-law; and four brothers.
Funeral services were prearranged and will be held at 10:30 a.m.,
Monday, July 1, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Blooming Prairie with
Dr. Bruce Love officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday at
Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Interment is at Greenwood Cemetery in

Peter Haffner 1850-1922
PETER HAFFNER
In the death of Peter Haffner who died at his home two miles southwest
of Rose Creek, Thursday morning, Mower county loses one of its most
substantial, well-to-do, progressive and good citizens. He was a man of
rugged honesty and sincere in every understaking. His death will be mourned
by everyone who knew him, for his passing on is a real loss to the community
in which he lived. He was a man of excellent judgement and for many yearws
he served on the school board of his district.
Peter Haffner was born in Germany on March 29, 1850. He came to America
in 1870. He worked in Wisconsin two years and them came to Stacyville,
Iowa, where he was married to Mary Decker on November 21, 1876. They
lived near Stacyville for two years and then located on a farm where he
died. His wife died on May 30, 1912. To them were born eleven children,
five of whom are living: Albert and Mrs. Edd Schammel of Rose Creek, Jacob
of Austin, and Mary and Peter at home.
He suffered an attack of heart trouble a years ago last November from
which he never fully recovered. On February 9, he suffered a second stroke
which left him unconscious until death came.
The funeral services were held at St. Peter's Catholic Church at Rose
Creek this morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Gmeinder officiating.

Mary (Decker) Haffner 1856-1912
Obituary, Mary (Decker) Haffner,
Mrs. Peter Haffner, who for the past 36 years has resided in Mower
county, Minnesota, died at her home near Rose Creek on Thursday evening,
after being in failing health for the past two years - though confined
to her bed but a short time.
Mary Decker was born near Mendota, Illinois, in 1856. When a child she
removed with her parents to Iowa, settling near Stacyville, where she grew
to womanhood and lived until her marriage to Peter Haffner in 1876. She
came to Mower county with her husband and this has been her home ever
since. She suffered from bronchitis, and tuberculosis of the bronchial
tubes caused her death.
She leaves beside her husband, three sons and three daughters, to mourn
the loss of a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Haffner was a member of the Presbyteran church and a woman devoted
to home and its interests. She was a kind neighbor, helpful in sickness and
trouble, and those who knew her valued her most.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock near Satacyville
where the interment will occur.

Ruth Doris (Hegna) Crace 1917-2013
Ruth Doris Crace, 95, Northfield
Ruth Doris Crace, 95, passed away on June 26, 2013, at Three Links
Reflections in Northfield, Minnesota.
Ruth was born on September 7, 1917, the daughter of Ole Markus and Mary
(Linbo) Hegna in rural Dodge County. She attended schools in rural Dodge
County, Hayfield School and graduated from Austin High School. Ruth was
united in marriage to James Robert Crace on January 1, 1938, in St. Ansgar,
Iowa. She worked for Kahler Corporation for 28 years in the clothing center.
Ruth retired in 1981.
Ruth was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church and Evanger Church Circle.
She enjoyed playing cards, Country Western and Old Time music, shopping,
casinos, dancing and enjoyed cooking for company.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Donna Bakken, Racine, Minnesota; Beverly
(Donald) Olson, Faribault, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Kathy Crace, Golden
Valley, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Andrew (friend, Michele) Olson, Darci
(Mike) Hill, Shawn (Dixie) Bakken, Shannin (John) Renn, Jennifer Crace;
10 great-grandchildren, Danika and Davis Hill; Mystic Olson; Austyn and
Nakya Renn; Cody, Jackson, Brookelyn Bakken; Keegan and Ryan Crace; one
sister, Fern Erath, Austin, Minn., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter,
Bonnie; and one son, Robert.
Czaplewski Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The
funeral service for will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the
Evanger Lutheran Church, 33554 660th Ave., Sargeant, Minn., with the R
ev. Dwight Dobell officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran
Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church
on Saturday.

Lorraine Carine (Brua) Ellingson 1920-2013
Lorraine Carine Ellingson, 93, passed away on June 26, 2013, at Sunrise
Reminiscence Care in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Lorraine resided on her farm
in Waltham for 50 years, then moved to her home in Austin, Minnesota.
Lorraine was born on January 18, 1920, daughter of Ole and Bertha
(Sorenson) Brua of Emmons, Minnesota. She married Orville Ellingson on
April 5, 1942, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield, Minnesota. Lorraine
and Orville lived and worked on the farm outside Waltham until his death
in 1973. She continued to manage the farm and worked as a teacher’s aide
in the Hayfield School District until she moved to Austin in 1994. While
living in Austin she was active in her church, in various clubs, and in
activities with friends and travel.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Orlyn (Megs) Ellingson, Lakeville,
Minnesota, Betty (Don) Schmidt, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, David (Kathy)
Ellingson, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Dennis (Kim) Ellingson, Hanoi, Vietnam,
and Lorrie Mirams, Park City, Utah; eight grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Suby, Worthington, Minnesota; and
four brothers, Leroy Brua, Moorhead, Minnesota; Robert Brua, in McVille,
North Dakota, Duane Brua in Eugene, Oregon, and Glen Brua, McIntosh,
Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother,
Trumaine.
The funeral service for Lorraine Ellingson will be 10 a.m. Wednesday,
July 3, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 First St. SE, Hayfield,
Minn., with the Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Visitation will be 5-8
p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Czaplewski Funeral Home, 501 Second St. NW,
Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be

Marjorie F. Luther, age 85, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Saint
Marys Hospital, Rochester. Marjorie Frances Barclay was born October 24,
1927 in Minneapolis to Loretta Barclay and Lynn Shortridge. She attended
school in Minneapolis and later moved to Austin. It was at the Terp
Ballroom that she met Raymond C. Luther. They married in 1957 in Austin
and raised a child, Julie.
They later moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and then to Colorado Springs
and then Denver, Colorado to be with Julie. Raymond died in 2001 in Denver.
Marjorie and Julie moved back to Austin in August of 2012.
Marjorie was a loving and caring person. She liked to build dollhouses,
and enjoyed doing puzzles, reading books, knitting and making ceramics.
She was a homemaker and worked for a time as a seamstress.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Kroeger, Rochester. She was
preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Loretta, her husband, Raymond,
three children, Darrell, Donald, and Janice Bottelson.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the
Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Reverend Kristi Koppel
officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Friends
may call one half hour before the service on Wednesday.

by his family and friends and his puppy, Charley.

Page Smith 1916-2013
Page Smith, 97, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Season's Hospice
in Rochester, Minnesota.
Page was born on March 19, 1916, to James Oliver and Lottie Mae Martin
in Green City, Missouri, the ninth child of 11 children. She graduated
from high school in Green City and then married Carl Harold Smith. They
moved to Riceville, Iowa, and then to LeRoy, Minnesota, where he managed
the LeRoy Grain Elevator and she managed their home. They were married 65
years and had three daughters, eight grandchildren, and 15
great-grandchildren.
After retirement, they spent winters in Sebring, Florida, and their
summers in LeRoy. Page was a year-round golfer and was pleased to achieve
a hole-in-one on two different occasions during her golfing days. She
enjoyed playing bridge and for many years belonged to clubs both places
she lived. She was also a gardener of vegetables and flowers and was a
long time member of the LeRoy Garden Club participating with many items
in their annual garden shows.
In 2007, Page moved to Madonna Towers Independent Living Center in
Rochester. Her family meant a lot to her, and she devoted her life to
them. She was loved and admired by her family, was kind, and had a good
sense of humor.
She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Patty (Dennis) Harvey of Lanesboro,
Minn., and Mrs. Karen (Cedric) Schutz of Rochester.
Preceding her in death was her husband Carl in 1996, a daughter Peggy
Ann Leuck and son-in-law Michael Reno Leuck in 2010.
Memorial services for Page Smith will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,
July 6, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy. Burial will be
held at LeRoy Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.
until the time of service at the church. Memorials, if desired, can be
made to Season’s Hospice and the Volunteer Firemen or Ambulances Services
