Biographical Sketch of
Swen Swenson
b: 1842
Swen Swenson is a native of Norway and was born August 12, 1842. He remained in his native land until 1869 when he came to America, and after a voyage of twenty-one days landed at Portland, Maine, and came directly to LaCrosse, Wisconsin, where he remained six years, engaging in farming.
In 1876 he came to Mower County and settled on the southeast quarter of section 33, town of Sargent, where he built a good house in which he still resides. He now owns and occupies 160 acres and spends his time in raising stock and grain. He has been prominent in town affairs and has held the office of chairman of the board of supervisors for three years.
Mr. Swenson is a member of the Lutheran church, and in politics is a Republican.
